The Power of Positive Thinking… |
![]() There are many positive things to say about the current state of the market. Sales aren’t much different from 2005. And, if a house is staged right, priced right, and you have a good agent, it’ll sell.
If you have the cash to invest in good quality residential or commercial rental property, now is a great time to buy! In fact, it is so good that you might regret not having done so when this market turns around!
If you’re a new citizen of New Orleans and inclined to buy, or just moving up in category, this is a fabulous time to invest your money in real estate. Even if you’re moving out of town, there isn’t much to fret about because that new home you’re buying is also worth less money!
The major negative component of the current market is fear. So, it’s essential that we all keep something important in mind. Corrections are not all bad, nor uncommon, or without an end.
A little positive thinking will go a long way.
I am at your service, and devoted to excellence in real estate transactions.

My Grandpa, Edward Holland… |

My maternal Grandpa was a very successful Industrialist, and my hero. Among the many interesting things he told me, here’s the one that’s stuck in my mind: Middleton, a quick adjustment to the inevitable makes for a peaceful mind and a happy life”. Yes, sir!

Choosing and Agent? Keep it professional. |
|
Recently, I asked a young lady, who was moving out of her home, if she had obtained the services of a real estate agent. Her answer: ”Yes, I have, he’s my brother’s wife’s cousin”.
At face value there’s nothing unusual about her response. But in all too many instances, when choosing an agent, buyers and sellers loose sight of an important fact. Their choice is responsible for buying or selling a home that’s very possibly their largest asset.
Though it might be contrary to polite New Orleans thinking, with all due respect may I suggest the following: When selecting an agent to handle your transaction, you might first consider interviews with more than one agent to qualify their demonstrable competency, fit with your personality, ability to maximize your opportunities, and detailed focus to lead you to a successful purchase or sale.
Letting social connections, blood relations, and friendships, guide your real estate decisions may not be to your advantage. Avoid the hassle, hire a professional and keep the relationship on that level.
