A Sense of Home and Place

There is no place on earth where we can go to avoid metrological or environmental dangers.  But with the grace of God, and improved preparation by the authorities, the orderly process of hurricane evacuation saved lives, and New Orleans was spared a heavy blow.  But for those less fortunate, our hearts and best wishes go out to them.

These hurricanes, no better nor worse than what is endured by our brethren in other sections of the country, are simply our area’s version of nature’s curious behavior.
I live in South Louisiana because it is the one place in the USA that makes me feel, among other things, culturally, socially, and intellectually, at home.  It is my place…and I know that it will continue to be the home and place for the thousands upon thousands of people who love this section of the world, and proudly call it home.
Let’s rejoice in the gift of life, our ability to survive, and the blessings of South Louisiana. And may we be spared additional threats during the remainder of this season.
As a final thought, it has become very clear that our wetlands are in desperate need of being rebuilt. I ask that you support any legislation or effort to do so.   The good health of our wetlands is considered to be of critical importance to all Americans, its abundant wildlife, and most assuredly, our safety, and future.
As ever, I remain at your service.

Two Acre Lots…Pond No Extra Charge!

The temptation to take this photo of a sign Lake Side Estateshawking

undeveloped, two acre lots, flooded courtesy of  Gustav, was too much to resist. But it gives you a good idea about why it’s very important to ask a  simple question:   ”Did  this land/house ever flood”?
Always look at the disclosures, and ask your agent to find out everything they can about your dream lot or home, before you buy.

Luxury Condos – Buy Now And Smile!!

St. Charles With A View!
See this view of St. Charles Ave., isn’t it beautiful?  Well, it now belongs to a client of mine to whom I recently sold the fab condo that provides this pleasant sight.
There are numerous gorgeous condominiums in and around town that are absolute knock-outs, and the current market is offering them at reduced prices. In the not too distant future many of these condos will escalate in price, and this window of opportunity will be gone.
I know of a potentially wonderful, large 2 bedroom condo with parking, Uptown, that could be lived in now, for sale for short money, in a million dollar area.
Think future.
